P.A.C.T. was established as a program sponsored by Halifax County Parks and Recreational Dept. in 1984. It began as a drop-in program for parents and children offered two mornings a week in a church hall. In the spring of 1994 the church hall was no longer able to serve the needs of the participants, so the play groups were moved to a store front location in the area.  P.A.C.T. expanded the programs and began the process of becoming a Family Resource Centre.  A Board of Directors and an Advisory Committee were formed. Funding was no longer available from H R D so applications were made to the Province and other organizations for funding assistance. Parents and Children Together was incorporated as a Non-Profit Association in April 1995. To accommodate the growth in members the Centre moved again to 1114 Cole Harbour Road, our present location.
